All You Need to Know About Your Numerology Chart
July 15, 2020
Numerology is the type of divination based on the understanding that numbers vibrate at different frequencies and their energies have an impact on our lives. To be able to uncover the secrets hidden within the numbers and their patterns, one needs to use a numerology chart.
It can be complex at first to create one, but once you learn the meanings and interpretations of the numbers, it is bound to get easier. Here we explain everything you need to know to get started with the basics of a numerology chart.
The tools required to calculate your numerology chart
As you start on your numerology chart, all you need is
- A pen and paper
- Information about yourself or the person you are writing the chart for. This can be date at birth and full name at birth etc.
- If the name has been changed, then use the new name for creating the chart, although the energy vibrations of your birth name are carried with you through your entire life.
Now that you have your tools and information ready, another thing you should keep in mind is the numerical value of letters. Depending on whether you want to follow Pythagorean or Chaldean school of numerology, you will be working with one of the following tables.
For some important numbers, you have to calculate the value of only vowels or only consonants in the name. However, what do you do with the letter “Y” in this case? If you choose to follow the Pythagorean school of numerology, which is the most common one right now, you will regard it as a consonant. At the same time, if this letter sounds like a vowel when you pronounce your name, then you should be regarded as a vowel.
Calculating your core numbers
A full numerology chart typically contains six numbers, three of which are derived from your name and three from your date of birth. As you construct the chart, you will notice how it reveals your personality and destiny, your self-expression, strengths, opportunities, and challenges, as well as your likes and dislikes. It paints a comprehensive picture of your being and experiences.
Before explaining how to calculate the core numbers, keep in mind that master numbers like 11, 22, and 33 have their own meanings and they are not reduced to single digits. You will just need to read the result corresponding to the meaning of the master number. Now, let’s look closer at the core numbers.
1. Life path number
Your life path number in your numerology chart is all about your life journey as well as the challenges and opportunities you will encounter. To calculate this number, you need to use your date of birth and add the digits of the month, date, and year separately, reducing each number to a single digit, then adding and reducing again. Here is how it works in practice.
For someone, whose birth date is February 6, 1988, you will calculate the life path number in the following way:
Month-> 0 + 2 = 2
Year-> 1 + 9 + 8 + 8 = 26 → 2 + 6 = 8
2 + 6 + 8 = 16 → 1 + 6 = 7
As a result, the life path number of a person born on February 6, 1988 is 7.
2. Personality number
For the personality number, you will be working with your birth name, counting only the values of the consonants in your full name. This number represents the way you show yourself to others and how they perceive you.
Here is how to calculate this number for someone named John Smith using Pythagorean method:
J = 1
H = 8
N = 5
S = 1
M = 4
T = 2
H = 8
First name: 1 + 8 + 5 = 14 → 1 + 4 = 5
Last name: 1 + 4 + 2 + 8 = 15 → 1 + 5 = 6
5 + 6 = 11
You do not need to reduce the master number 11, so it is the personality number for John Smith.
3. Heart’s desire number
This number in your numerology chart represents your wishes and desires, as well as what motivates you. To calculate that, you will be adding vowels in your birth name.
Let’s calculate the heart’s desire number for someone named for John Smith using Pythagorean method:
O = 6
I = 9
6 + 9 = 15 → 1 + 5 = 6
So, John Smith’s heart’s desire number is 6.
4. Expression/destiny number
You will again use your birth name to calculate your expression number. It reveals your goals and opportunities waiting on your journey.
Let’s calculate the expression/destiny number for John Smith using Pythagorean method:
J = 1
O = 6
H = 8
N = 5
S = 1
M = 4
I = 9
T = 2
H = 8
First name: 1 + 6 + 8 + 5 = 20 → 2 + 0 = 2
Last name: 1 + 4 + 9 + 2 + 8 = 24 → 2 + 4 = 6
2 + 6 = 8
So, John Smith’s expression/destiny number is 8.
5. Attitude number
Your attitude number in your numerology chart is calculated by adding the day and month of your birth and reducing the number to a single digit. It shows your personality, both inside and outside.
Here is an example of calculations for an individual born on February 6, 1988:
6 + 2 = 8
So, this person’s attitude number is 8.
6. Attainment number
You should not start with this number because it involves previous calculations. Add your life path number and your expression/destiny number to get your attainment number.
Let’s use our previous results here for a John smith born on February 6, 1988.
Life path number = 7
Expression/destiny number = 8
7 + 8 = 15 → 1 + 5 = 6
This number is also recognized as the journey of your soul. It describes who you were in your past lives and who you are striving to be in the present.
Now that you have created your numerology chart, learn about the meanings of the numbers and what role they can play in your life. Calculating these core numbers can help you better understand yourself and your purpose in life, as well as enable you to face challenges more readily.
